Spokathon: You are invited to join the region’s second-ever Hackathon. Students in grades 6-12 will come together in groups to create a game/app based on their own idea. There will be 2 brackets: 6-8, which will meet from 5-9pm on February 23; and 8-12, which will meet from 5pm February 23 overnight until 2pm February 24.

Students will present ideas for projects. Students will then get to sign on to projects. Projects with nobody signed on will either be completed by the individual, or collapsed as individuals join other teams. Teams will be made up of no more than 5 members, and spend their time developing their projects then present on Saturday.

Winners will be selected by the members present. Voting will take place after all projects are presented.

Bring your own device. There will be several computers for checkout, but you should bring your own computer.

Guest speakers will be speaking on topics that vary from industry content to How To sessions where students can learn content that will help them with their project.

Students will need to bring gear for sleeping/napping. They will be in charge of their own sleep.

Spokane CSTA as well as local college students will provide supervision. Supervision will be provided around the clock.

Registration is open until February 19. The cost is $10 for middle school, $20 for high school.
